About Us

Our farmstead is tucked between the ridges of the Appalachian Mountain range, on steep land that was once tilled and planted in burley tobacco. On this hillside, we raise sheep in an intensively managed system and harvest select trees for woodworking, our winter heat and improvement of the woodland.

The sheep provide many gifts: wool for felting, the sweetest grass-fed meat and fat, and sheepskins that are naturally tanned right here on the farm. But perhaps their greatest gift is the regeneration of a hillside eroded by a century of the plow into lush meadows that reflect the rich bio-diversity of these mountain coves and wellsprings.

Our aim is to remember how to harvest and preserve this abundance.
